Self-Flushing Composite Intake Filters
Innovative Design, Extra Durable
BAS inlet filtration allows for fine particle filtration at the pond level far before the water is in contact with the pumps. Pre-pump filtration decreases pump wear and maintenance and actively extends the life cycle of the pump. To prevent filter clogging and a decrease in water flow, the filter engages an internal back flushing mechanism to remove surface deposits and restore pristine working order.
The BAS inlet filtration system is a filament wound e-glass/epoxy composite shell utilizing a patented filter media embedment process. (United States Patent # 7384492). The filter media typically consists of 316L stainless steel mesh with a pore size of 280 micron, but can be customized to customer specifications. The filter shell is supported by three composite standing flanges with ambidextrous pipe cradles to support the HDPE back flushing feed line.
The entire filter assembly is supported on a pultruded composite I - beam skid with horizontal cross bracing at the flange locations. The internal back flushing assembly consists of four arms on a rotating central feed axis supplying system regulated system pressure of 90 psi to over 100 high pressure spray nozzles for surface contaminate removal. This rotating assembly uses a nonmetallic self flushing bearing assembly to insure longevity in an underwater environment. For ease of maintenance, the entire internal back flushing assembly can be easily removed using our integrated low friction internal track system.
The standard BAS is designed to accommodate a C905 PVC intake flume with an outer diameter of 32 inches, but can be tailored to fit additional custom flume sizes. The filter attaches to the intake flume using a stainless steel quick release tensioning system and utilizes an EPDM boot assembly to insure a continuous seal between the filter and the flume. All metallic components and hardware of the BAS filter are supplied in stainless steel.
Superior coating
The BAS filtration system is coated in a PTFE enhanced copper urethane based anti-fouling paint to deter algae growth and fouling.

BAS Self-flushing filters are available as a BAS-15 (2000 GPM) or a BAS-30 (4000 GPM) models.
