PAINT & FINISH

A Superior Finish
Watertronics offers a proprietary painting, coating and rust-fighting process to finish all components prior to station assembly.  The innovative procedure consists of initial metal preparation, application of a rust prohibitive epoxy prime coat, and application of a two-part ultraviolet insensitive polyurethane finish.  After application, each coat is baked for one half hour at 165 degrees F, creating our Fusion Bonded Coating or FBE.

Even FBE coatings are susceptible to the effects of UV light, so to protect against rust or chipping we add a polyurethane finish coat.  This marine-grade coat is also used to prevent aluminum control panels and unitized skids from oxidizing – ultimately resulting in a superior product appearance and long-term durability.

Pump station components finished with a medium green appearance include skids, manifolds, isolation and relief valves, grooved clamps and supports.  All electrical enclosures and accessory panels and tanks are finished appliance white.

Available Enhancement
We also offer an enhanced level of painting and finishing through 3M’s Skotchkote 134 FBE coating.  This coating, available at an additional charge, can be requested specifically for all piping in the specification.  The 3M Skotchkote is baked at 6oo degrees F and then applied to the interior and exterior on the Watertronics product.  By upgrading to the 3M Skotchkote coating, you can be sure the result will be superior adhesion, quality and strength.
